The volume of tourist flow in the UAE will be 9 million people in 2012

The volume of tourist flow in the United Arab Emirates will reach 9 million people in 2012, and its growth, compared to the previous year, will be 9%. Such a forecast is contained in a study by the international company Business Monitor International (BMI).

The greatest efficiency in the development of the hospitality sector is demonstrated by Dubai. According to experts, last year the emirate's hotels became leaders among their competitors in the Middle East in terms of occupancy rates, daily and total revenue per room. So, in 2011, Dubai hotels set a record for occupancy at 81.8%. At the same time, the average rental rate increased by 7.6% to US $ 205.5.

Last year, the growth of tourist flow was also observed in Abu Dhabi: 2.1 million tourists visited it, which is 7% more than in 2010.

These and other trends in the development of the hospitality industry will be discussed at the Arabian Travel Market, the largest tourist exhibition in the Middle East, which will be held this year from April 30 to May 3 at the Dubai International Exhibition and Congress Center.
