Dubai ruler rejects fears related to Iran's nuclear threat

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, does not believe that the Iranian authorities intend to develop the nuclear weapons sector in their country and believes that this Persian state is quite realistic about the consequences of the attack on Israel. In an interview with CNN, Sheikh Mohammed noted that the controversy surrounding Tehran’s nuclear risk against Israel is "bloated."

“What can Iran do with nuclear weapons?” Said Sheikh Mohammed. “Will it attack, for example, Israel? How many Palestinians will die from this attack? Do you think that if Iran attacks Israel, then the cities of this state will be safe? They will be erased from the face of the earth the very next day. " Following a UN report that Iran is allegedly working on an atomic bomb and may be conducting secret research related to nuclear weapons, Tehran is faced with a new “wave” of sanctions. “Iran is our neighbor,” continued Sheikh Mohammed. The country's population professes Islam. We have lived side by side for thousands and thousands of years. I do not believe that Iran will develop nuclear weapons on its territory. ”

In an interview, Sheikh Mohammed raised a wide range of issues, including the main causes of the "Arab Spring", during which the rulers of Egypt, Libya and Tunisia were overthrown. The Arab Emirates, the world's third largest exporter of oil, its revolutionary echoes have not reached, partly due to their excellent lifelong social security system for local citizens.

According to Sheikh Mohammed, he repeatedly warned the rulers of other Arab countries that slowly “boiling” political unrest would ultimately “erupt like a volcano” if the tops did not serve the interests of their people and continue to ignore their needs.

“The Arab spring is people who have been waiting for a very long time, and rulers who have met their needs all this time, and not the aspirations of their people,” said Sheikh Mohammed. “In 2004, I told them:“ Change your attitude or change you ” .

It should be noted that the UAE federal authorities provided a total of US $ 1.6 billion to such less developed emirates as Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain in order to narrow the gap in level wealth between them and the richer and more developed emirates - Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The UAE firmly secured its status as a “security zone” in times of crisis, which helped the country overcome its own debt crisis, which arose because of the global financial downturn in 2009.
