In the Russian international school, located in the Al Muhaysna-4 district, near the emirate of Sharjah, a solemn line-up dedicated to the beginning of the new school year was held.
The honored guests arrived in the person of: Sergey Krasnogor, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, to congratulate the students, the teaching staff and the school administration; Najibullah Najip, owner of Russian International School; Father Superior Alexander, Rector of the Parish of St. Apostle Philip in the UAE; Sergey Tokarev, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in the UAE, and Elena Olkhovskaya, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Emirates Publishing House.
The current academic year at the Russian school in Dubai began with a large number of pleasant and important changes. Firstly, at the numerous requests of parents and students and given the multinational composition of students from the "Dubai Private Russian School", it was renamed the Russian International - Russian International School. Great assistance in this was provided by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and personally by Consul General Sergey Krasnogor. Secondly, the Russian school now occupies the entire building that it once shared with another educational institution. Thirdly, the classes in the new school this year will be marked with the letters "A", "B", "C", by analogy with the Russian education system and due to the fact that the number of students in it has increased markedly, so it no longer seems it is possible to have only one class in each parallel.
It should be noted that in the first "A" and "B" classes of the Russian International School this year 60 students have already entered. In general, the Russian International School will be able to teach about 1200 students within its walls. Today, students who come with their parents from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Armenia and other CIS countries study in it.
The national anthem of the United Arab Emirates and the UAE sounded at the ceremonial line, the flags of the two countries were raised by the best students. The director of the school, Marina Halikova, addressed the audience with welcoming words and warm wishes to teachers, students and their parents. Then the long-awaited first bell rang, and the guys went to their classes.
Recall that the Russian School of Dubai was founded in 1996. As of today, it is the only school in the United Arab Emirates where teaching is conducted in Russian in full accordance with secondary education programs approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of the UAE. Obtaining a complete general secondary education at a school includes 3 levels corresponding to three levels of general education programs: primary (grades 1–4), basic general (grades 5–9) and secondary (complete) general (grades 10–11). The development of educational programs of the 2nd and 3rd levels ends with State exams. Today, students of all three levels, including preparatory classes, study in one spacious school building. An intensive English language course has been introduced at all levels of instruction in the school, and in the middle-level classes, children also study Arabic. The school has professional teachers. All have higher pedagogical education corresponding to their position.
In addition, extracurricular work with children is actively conducted in the Russian school, various evenings and holidays, sports competitions are held, and interest groups are working. School students are actively participating in city events as part of the Dubai Trade Festival. The school also collaborates with educational and leisure institutions in the cities of Dubai and Sharjah, including the Sharjah Science Museum, the Sharjah Earth History Museum, the Sharjah Desert Museum, the Dubai Historical and Archaeological Museum and the Ethnographic Museum in Dubai.
