Abu Dhabi will render financial assistance to Azerbaijan in the construction of a power plant

ADFD management has signed a loan agreement on providing a loan to the Azerbaijani authorities in the amount of 223 million dirhams (US $ 60.7), which will be spent on the construction of a new power plant.

The new Janub Thermal Power Plant is being built to ensure the appropriate level of energy supply in the republic, and improve the efficiency of the electricity generation system in Azerbaijan. The signing of the agreement took place in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. On the part of the UAE, the agreement was signed by Muhammad Safe Al Suwadi, and. about. CEO of ADFD.

According to Al Suwadi, gas and steam turbines, necessary related equipment, security systems will be purchased as part of the project, relevant construction work will be carried out, and power lines will be built. The total amount of assistance to be provided by ADFD to Azerbaijan will be 260 million dirhams (US $ 71 million). These funds will be used to develop both the transport and energy sectors of the republic.

Globally, the total amount of grants and loans allocated by ADFD for the development of 199 projects in 53 developing countries is US $ 3.5 billion. In addition, the fund has created and finances 12 international joint ventures operating in various sectors of the economy.
