Korloff noir

The huge pure black Korloff Noir diamond of an unusual cut, according to legend, has magical properties. It brings good luck to everyone who looked at it at least once, but to those who were lucky enough to touch and even hold this amazing solitaire in their hands, luck does not change until the end of life. No photograph can convey the unique play of light on the black iridescent faces and the sensation of inner radiance that emanates from the very center of the stone.

A unique stone weighing 88 carats, which is the largest black diamond in the world, was found in Siberia and belonged to the noble Russian Korlov-Sapozhnikov family. Soon after the revolution, he was taken abroad.

In the 1940s of the twentieth century, the family sold it to an Antwerp dealer. The diamond began to pass from hand to hand and, according to legend, once turned out to be for a short while at a French jeweler - grandfather Daniel Payaser. It is said that then he called his grandson and said: “Extend your hand and close your eyes,” and then put a black diamond in his palm. Daniel at first sight fell in love with a mysterious stone, and when he grew up, he bought it from the then owners.

In 1978, Daniel, at one time engaged in art and paintings, founded his own jewelry house, which he named in honor of the diamond - Korloff.
