Most of the invitees, as in previous years, were representatives of numerous CIS diasporas in the United Arab Emirates.


Guests at the entrance and in the hall were met by artists, animators, hostesses, in the welcome zone there were armored cars, as well as the entire line of Soviet Volga cars - GAZ-19, GAZ-24 and GAZ-31, creating the appropriate atmosphere. Exactly at 20:00, the hosts announced the beginning of the evening and Gocha Levanovich Buachidze, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, took to the stage.


Gocha Levanovich greeted the guests of the evening and on behalf of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates Alexander Vladimirovich Efimov warmly congratulated him on the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"May 9 was, is and remains a sacred date for all countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States," he said.

After his speech, a minute of silence was declared as a tribute to those who won the Victory on the fronts of World War II.

This year they became Dmitry Pevtsov, a Soviet and Russian film and theater actor, singer, People's Artist of the Russian Federation and laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation. For a performance in Dubai, Dmitry Pevtsov prepared a special theater program, which included poetry and songs of the war years.
