Baskin-Robbins - hit the heat!

The world famous Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire has opened its 450th store in the region on the man-made island of The Palm Jumeirah. It is planned that by the end of this year the number of Baskin-Robbins stores in the Middle East will reach 500.

The new store has more than 30 items of delicious ice cream, including specially developed varieties with low fat content and sugar-free ice cream, a large assortment of drinks, juices, coffee and branded milkshakes.

Baskin-Robbins was founded by Irwin Robbins in 1945 when he opened the first ice cream shop in Glendale, California. A year later, Robbins teamed up with his son-in-law Burton Baskin, and they opened their own ice cream factory. Baskin and Robbins decided to pay special attention to expanding the range of ice cream by increasing the number of aromatic and flavoring additives. To the traditional and favorite flavors of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream, varieties with the taste of pumpkin pie, blueberry cheesecake and melon were added. In 1953, the name of the company received the now popular name Baskin-Robbins.
