Some sections of Dubai's roads turn red

Dubai authorities are bright red on those sections of roads on which the speed limit has been changed.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun red-tinting the asphalt pavement on sections of streets whose speed has been changed.

On road lanes such as Oud Metha Street near Bu Kadrah along the continuation of Dubai - Al Ain Street, the permissible speed limit has been reduced from 100 to 80 kilometers per hour.

Maita ben Adai, director general of the RTA Traffic Agency, explained that the goal of the experiment on the designated section of the road was to warn road users about a new speed limit. According to her, bright color will be used on other strategically significant roads in Dubai, for example, on Sheikh Zayed Road, near the fifth intersection, where the permissible maximum speed was reduced from 120 to 100 kilometers per hour, as well as on the road from the Free Economic Zone Jebel Ali to the town of Lehbab.

"We expect motorists to get used to this for their own safety and to avoid delinquency and accidents caused by speeding in accordance with the RTA's vision," she said.
