In Dubai, the most expensive horseback saddle in the world was auctioned off.
In Dubai, another financial record was set. At the auction, the most expensive saddle for riding in the world was sold, the cost of which amounted to 2,400,000 dirhams (653,234 US dollars).
This achievement fell into the Guinness Book of Records. The auction was organized by Al Jalila Foundation in Dubai on November 25, 2015, and more than 350 guests took part in the charity auction. Such a high cost of a saddle is due to the fact that it belonged to the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Hamdan bin Muhammad Al Maktoum.
However, the saddle is not the only dynasty item sold at auction. The total value of all items sold amounted to more than 50 million dirhams. For example, a racing helmet was also raffled off by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, during his winning race at the 2012 Championship.
