"Club" in Kazakhstan

Surely, many mothers and fathers of today's students went to construction teams with classmates, and they are happy to recall their student years now, lamenting that today's youth have completely "gone wrong". And they waste their nerves in vain. Yes, today's students spend much more time in virtual or sms-communication, but meetings, sports and just friendly gatherings are still not canceled. Of course, this is no longer a construction team, but life "in a different format", but we want to talk about one of the student associations today.

A sufficient number of Kazakhstanis are studying at the American University of Dubai, and therefore, in the autumn of 2007, the Kazakhstan Student Club was established here. The main goals of the club are: to unite young citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and children from friendly countries of the former Soviet Union, to develop a spirit of patriotism among the young generation of Kazakhstanis and to create an interesting, eventful student life. During the existence of the club, the guys have achieved a lot. Through the efforts of club members, sporting events were organized among all students at the American University of Dubai. And at the evening of world cultures, held at the university in the spring of 2007, the team of the Club of Kazakhstan Students took third place. However, the guys did not want to stand still, and in the next such competition they decided to be the first.

Republic Day is traditionally celebrated in Kazakhstan on October 25th. This holiday is associated with a historical date - on October 25, 1990, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR adopted the Declaration "On the State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR", which became a turning point in the country's development. At the end of October 2008, in honor of the next anniversary of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the student club together with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UAE organized a friendly football match, which, after all the sports passions, ended with a fun dinner for a company of 150 people - from athletes to their fans.

On behalf of all students of the AUD, the guys from the "Club of Kazakhstanis" expressed great gratitude to the families of the workers of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who provided active assistance and support in holding this sporting event. Words of gratitude were also addressed to Askhat Serin, a representative of Kaz Munai Gas. Special thanks were awarded to Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the UAE Askar Musinov and his assistant Olzhas Bukenov for supporting students.

Thanks to all these people, the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was unforgettable. Being thousands of kilometers from their homeland, the citizens of this country celebrated a national holiday in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In the immediate plans of the club - the organization of a variety of thematic events. The guys are sure that not only immigrants from Kazakhstan will soon join their initiative, but also guys from other countries who want their student years to become as unforgettable as their parents once did. And the guys also know for sure that all the club's endeavors will continue to receive active support both from the side of state representatives, and from the side of Kazakhstani business.

What is it like to “club” in Kazakhstan, we asked several students:

Alilya Akhmedjan, student of the faculty of international business AUD:

- I plan to get a bachelor's degree in 3 years. I enjoy studying in the UAE, and honestly at American University.

Great children study here - my compatriots, and students from other countries. Many say that you should not shorten your student years, but I want to return home faster to continue my family business in the Zheti Agaiyn (Seven Brothers) company. This commercial and industrial company was founded in 1993, my father is Akhmedjan Bakytbek.

The company has branches in 7 cities of the country: Astana, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ekibastuz, Kyzylorda and Semipalatinsk. Collaborates with foreign companies from Germany, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey and China. I am sure that the knowledge gained abroad, or rather the student years spent in the UAE, will help me bring Jeti Agaiyn to the international level, so that the company is recognizable not only in the CIS countries, but also be known around the world. And my fellow students, members of the "Club of Kazakhstan students" do not let me miss home yet.

DamirStudent, American University of Dubai:

- Guys from the CIS countries who study at our university, mainly from families of well-known businessmen in the homeland. Therefore, they choose for themselves serious specialties - economics, management, marketing, then to continue the family business or start their own. The requirements at the university are very strict, so most of the time is spent on studying, and what remains can be spent on communicating with friends, and playing football or golf, which I really like.

The student club helps us not to forget about our homeland and make new friends. And that’s great.

Orkhan Mustafayev, President of the Azerbaijan Student Club AUD:

- We "club" in our own way. An American club operates at the American University of Dubai, which helps organize meetings with compatriots and has very good relations with national clubs of other CIS countries. We quickly find a common language with each other, since we are all united by knowledge of the Russian language, which helps us make friends and interact beautifully outside our countries.

Here, in the UAE, I want to get a master's degree, gain experience in large local companies and then start my own business.

Something like that. Who is next?
