UAE Approves National Higher Education Strategy

A new strategy for the development of higher education in the country was introduced in the UAE.

The UAE Cabinet of Ministers approved the most ambitious higher education strategy in the history of the state, the goal of which is to bring the UAE's universities to the list of 100 best universities in the world.

This strategy was approved at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Ibn Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. First of all, the strategy is aimed at a new generation receiving higher education.

The strategy also includes preparing UAE university students for the rapidly changing conditions of the modern world. According to the set of measures taken, students will be taught skills and knowledge that will allow them to compete in the international market, to meet constantly changing requirements, which will ensure a successful career in the future.

"46 years ago there were only 40 university students in the country. Today, 77 state and private universities work in the UAE. The level of universities is crucial for our economy and lays the foundation for a happy future for the country," said the vice president.

Sheikh also added: "We highly value universities in the country, we have to take a new step to achieve our goals."

The education strategy is consistent with the UAE 2021 concept and the UAE Centennial 2071, it aims to develop high-quality training for students in professional and academic disciplines - all this will help to achieve economic goals based on knowledge.

The strategy is based on four main areas of development for future generations. Among which are: ensuring the quality of education provided by universities in the UAE, adapting the curriculum to the global trends of modern society. The program also involves creating a creative, competitive learning environment. The final direction of the strategy is to ensure the proper level of competence of educational programs and structures.
