In the UAE, a man will pay $ 100 thousand for a collision with a woman

The court of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah decided to pay 450 thousand dirhams to a woman who became disabled as a result of the accident.

The Emirate Ras Al Khaimah Civil Court of Appeal, UAE, ruled that a 20-year-old driver is required to pay 450 thousand dirhams ($ 122.5 thousand) in compensation to a woman who has lost 80% capacity after the culprit of the accident on her in her vehicle.

The driver is accused of inattentive and reckless driving, causing damage to other people's property and causing injuries to the victim, as well as driving a car with an expired registration.

According to court documents, in June 2016, the accused hit a 31-year-old victim who received serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical assistance. The victim was almost in a coma at the time of hospitalization. The woman’s brain was damaged in the accident, part of her nose, spine, right arm and ribs were broken.

The victim filed a lawsuit in a civil court of the emirate against the accused and his insurance company with a request for compensation of 3 million dirhams ($ 816 thousand) due to disability and the need for a permanent assistant. The woman also could no longer do her job in the beauty salon due to a head injury.

Based on a medical report, the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Court of Appeals increased the original amount of compensation from AED 350,000 to AED 450,000, given the fact that the victim needs ongoing assistance.
