Gulf waters will be sanctified off the coast of Dubai

The Russian Orthodox Church will consecrate the waters of the Persian Gulf on January 19 for the feast of Epiphany.

On the afternoon of January 19, Archimandrite Alexander will consecrate the waters of the Persian Gulf, connected to the Indian Ocean by the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, from the coast in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Recall that the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church decided to consecrate the waters on the entire planet, in all four oceans of the Earth.

According to representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate, every year on Epiphany, water is illuminated in open sources, the water in the ocean can be blessed by clergymen of churches located along settlements.

It is worth noting that in some countries of South and Southeast Asia there are parishes of the Orthodox Church, for example: in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.

Parishes of the Russian church are also in the far north. For example, the Arctic Ocean is illuminated at several points at once.

The servants of the Russian Orthodox Church consecrate other world oceans, for example, Father Timothy on Friday will consecrate the waters of the Atlantic Ocean on the coast of Reykjavik. According to the clergyman, many Icelanders gather on the coast who want to follow the ancient Christian tradition and plunge into the consecrated water.
