In Dubai, a stewardess was convicted of threatening a man to send obscene photos of his wife to the victim’s family in Azerbaijan.
A 30-year-old stewardess from Europe appeared before a Dubai court for blackmail on Instagram. She threatened the man to post obscene pictures of his wife in public with his boyfriend if the victim did not pay her 300 thousand dirhams ($ 81.7 thousand).
The victim told the court that he received a message on the social network Instagram, according to which his wife has a young man. He was asked to pay to ensure that their intimate photos were not published and sent to his family in Azerbaijan.
The victim transferred 40 thousand dirhams ($ 10.9 thousand) to the accused’s bank account as soon as she sent him a photograph of his wife. After that, the stewardess demanded the same amount for each subsequent photo.
The blackmailer was arrested by the Dubai Police Cybercrime unit shortly after the victim reported the incident. The woman will be imprisoned for three months.
The Dubai Court of Appeal rejected the woman's motion and upheld the earlier decision.
The decision is final because the accused did not appeal the decision of the court of appeal, according to which she will also be deported.
