Dubai, UAE. The UAE General Aviation Authority has registered 4,100 drones as part of the You Are Responsible campaign.
The campaign is designed to remind all owners of unmanned aerial vehicles that their use without permission threatens with a fine of 50 thousand dirhams (US $ 13.7 thousand).
The UAE Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that the use of drones is prohibited within a radius of 5 km from airports, in densely populated residential areas and over sports facilities. Since the start of the awareness campaign, the number of violations has decreased significantly, the ministry said.
