A collector stolen one and a half million dollars was detained in Dubai

Dubai police tracked down and arrested an attacker who had stolen 5 million dirhams from a collection vehicle.

Dubai police detained a criminal who committed theft on a large scale, illegally appropriating 5 million dirhams (about 1 million 366 thousand US dollars).

According to the case file, the police received a message about the theft of 5 million dirhams from a collection vehicle near a shopping center. The theft was reported by a representative of a collection company.

During the investigation, it turned out that the theft was committed by a native of Kenya who worked as a collector (in the UAE they are often called security guards). Performing his duties in a large shopping center Deira City Center, approximately at 22:30, the alleged offender informed his partner that he needed to visit the toilet, took the money and disappeared.

Police put the thief on the wanted list for two weeks. Authorities managed to take the criminal in an apartment in Al Nahda near Sharjah. Employees detained a criminal who was renting a bed in this apartment.

The police confiscated the stolen money from the attacker. The accused told the police that he gave part of the money to his accomplice, whose whereabouts he did not know.
