The UAE explained the procedure for obtaining a certificate of no criminal record

In the United Arab Emirates, explanations on the procedure for obtaining a certificate of no criminal record for persons applying for new work visas have been published.

The consular services of states whose citizens are arriving in large numbers in the UAE for employment have published a leaflet for obtaining a certificate of no criminal record (Good Conduct Certificate).

Obtaining such a document for job seekers has become mandatory since February 4, 2018. An expat applying for a new work visa in the UAE must be checked and must provide a certificate of criminal record from his or her country of residence within the past five years. According to the authorities, this is necessary to ensure public safety.

It is worth noting that a certificate is needed only when applying for a new work visa. The document is obliged to provide only the hired employee, but not family members who are dependent on him. Persons visiting the country on a tourist or student visa, such a certificate is also not required.
