Dubai police take more measures to protect residents and tourists

More patrols will appear in Dubai to protect citizens and guests of the emirate.

Dubai police are introducing many new crime prevention measures in the city. With their help, the authorities strive to protect residents and guests of the emirate, especially customers of banks.

Salem Al Rumaity, director of the headquarters of the criminal investigation department, said the new campaign was developed after a thorough analysis of the crimes committed in Dubai.

"We have developed plans to reduce the number of crimes with bank customers in areas where there are many banks or money transfer offices such as Naif and Al Rafaa," Al Rumaity said.

Dubai police recorded common mistakes made by customers of banks - moving with money over long distances, counting bills in front of strangers.

"As part of the campaign, we are putting more employees near banks to prevent such crimes," Al Rumaity said.

Police patrols also stepped up near gas stations and grocery stores to prevent robberies that occur when drivers leave their cars open and leave for a payment or purchase.
