UAE police discovered 37 marijuana bushes

Police arrested two suspected marijuana farmers on a farm in Al Ain.

Dubai, UAE. Abu Dhabi police arrested two suspected cultivators of 37 marijuana bushes in Al Ain.

According to law enforcement officers, the police received a signal that an Asian man was using the farm to grow prohibited plants.

Based on the signal, a test was initiated. As a result of operational actions, two accomplices were caught distributing drugs.

It is worth recalling that in June last year, Abu Dhabi police arrested 12 people and seized 423 kg of heroin and methamphetamine capsules intended for distribution in different parts of the country.

In May of this year, Dubai police arrested 16 people who seized 365 kg of drugs, including heroin, hashish and methamphetamine, for a total of 280 million dirhams (US $ 76 million), which were hidden in car tires.

According to the UAE’s Law on Combating Drugs, drug addicts are released from imprisonment in the event of self-confession or on the basis of denunciation of family or friends. They are also required to transfer all their narcotic substances to law enforcement.

Only if the addict refuses treatment, he is prosecuted. In 2018, Dubai police supported 104 addicted young people. In 2017, the Erada Rehabilitation Center (Volya) was built in Dubai to treat them.
