UAE residents need to apply for a Schengen visa in 90 days

VFS Global Visa Application Center recommends applying for Schengen at least three months in advance.

Dubai, UAE. VFS Global Visa Application Center recommends UAE residents planning trips to Europe to apply for Schengen visas at least three months before their expected travel date.

The reminder is connected with long queues for obtaining visas to the Schengen countries from April to August: for this reason, many UAE residents did not manage to get visas on time and were forced to cancel their trips.

As noted in VFS Global, in the highest season the center processes about 68 thousand applications, with most of them falling during the school holidays and the hottest summer months. In order to get a visa on time, the center recommends applying 90 days before the trip.

The waiting time for the filing date can be up to four weeks, and the visa process can take 15-30 business days, depending on the consulate. It is worth recalling that the visa centers at VFS Global in Dubai (Wafi Mall) and Abu Dhabi (Shining Towers) accept applications for visas to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia and the Netherlands.

Before applying for a visa, you must carefully check the entire list of documents requested by the diplomatic department of a country. The list of documents can be checked on the VFS Global website.
