Paid bridges may appear in Abu Dhabi

In Abu Dhabi, some bridges may incur fares.

Dubai, UAE. A system of collecting tolls for certain sections of the road, known in Dubai as Salik, may appear in the capital of the United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi. A corresponding message was received today, July 23, 2019, by many residents of the UAE on their smartphones.

The report notes that Salik outposts will be installed on four bridges in the capital: Sheikh Zayed bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Mussaffah Bridge and Maqta Bridge. The fare on the bridge will be 4 dirhams on weekdays.

On Fridays and weekends, travel will be free. The authorities have not yet confirmed this information.
