Halya Kazim - changes for the better

Interviewed by Natalia Remmer

HALA KAZIM - ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING EMIRATES, BY RIGHT BEARING THE TITLE OF SOCIAL INFLUENER. IN THE PAST TALENTED ARTIST, AND NOW - MOM, GRANDMA, PERSONAL TRAINER AND WRITER, SHE DEDICATED HIS LIFE TO TEACH WOMEN BECOME BETTER. ABOUT THE PASSED WAY AND OVERCOMED OBSTACLES THE PARTY OF THE PRACTICE OF POSITIVE TRANSFORMATIONS HAS BEEN CONSIDERED IN THEIR FIRST BOOK "HALA AND CHANGES" AND IN INTERVIEW OUR MAGAZINE.

Madame Hal, we meet at the presentation of your first book. What is she talking about?

Hal: This book is dedicated to all the women I want to say: changes are possible, you can become better. I talk about this with my own life, an ordinary girl born in Jumeirah and suffering from dyslexia. I am not a writer - I just tried to describe the events that happened to me and make it clear to others that you can always find a way to a better life.

You can hardly recognize the Arab woman in you, as we used to see her. What events made you change?

Hal: Perhaps the first serious challenge was the birth of children. I have five sons, and I gave birth to the first at the age of 18 - it made me grow up quickly. Another difficult experience is a divorce after many years of marriage and a new marriage ... with a foreigner (second husband Hali Kazim has Scottish and Egyptian roots - Note. Ed.), Which in itself was a social challenge - our conservative emirate society did not welcome such unions . And finally, the fact that I became a grandmother. All this tempered me, but in the end it did better. And this is the most valuable asset.

We are used to seeing Arab society closed, but the world around us is changing rapidly. How do changes in the country affect the lifestyle of the emirate women and their views?

Hal: We live in an international environment where there are many challenges, but many opportunities. Our life teaches us to be more creative, ready for change, and shows that any doors are open for us. A woman in the Emirates can be a minister, and the head of a company, and a fashion designer, or even a military pilot. The world has really changed: it used to be strange to see a working woman, now it’s strange if a woman does not work.

Do you see the difference between the female desires and aspirations of the emirates of your generation and the generation of your eldest son?

Hal: There are more challenges for the current generation, the competition is higher. They have all the necessary technologies to gain knowledge, so we constantly expect new achievements from them. It is difficult to find yourself and your path in life, but I always advise them to follow their passion, despite all the restrictions.

Is that how you raised your sons?

Halya: My relationship with my sons is based on friendship, the ability to talk and hear each other. I explained to them that I was not perfect and I could make mistakes, and I tried never to blame them. Thanks to this, they really value life.

For example, I never advised my sons how to choose wives. This is their personal choice - because I know them only as children, and not as husbands ...

Why did you choose travel as the format for personal changes?

Hala: In most cases, our women choose only shopping as their travel destination. And there is nothing wrong with that. But I decided to change the idea of travel: for me, a trip is a chance to be alone with myself, think about myself, my life, leave the comfort zone.

Many people think that we only walk in the mountains - but this is much more. We learn how to take care of ourselves, how to spend time and how to become better wives, sisters and mothers. We train and in 5-6 days we change for the better before our eyes. I can give many such examples.

What did traveling and exploring other cultures teach you?

Halya: Never blame. Give a chance to a man. Give yourself the opportunity to believe that people can not always be typical representatives, for example, of their nationality. And, of course, I realized that only love and kindness can be the universal language of communication between representatives of different cultures. When we come to a small village in another country, people don’t understand our language. But they can catch our emotions, good intentions ... And therefore they respond with kindness.

What do you want to say to foreigners living in the UAE?

Halya: I would like us to know each other better. I believe that we have more in common than differences.

Halya Kazim was chosen as the ambassador of the Audi automobile brand in the UAE, and her son Anas Bukash as the ambassador of the no less famous brand Jaguar
