And yet there is something very powerful and significant in changing seasons. Here, in the Emirates, this is not felt so strongly, but nevertheless we continue to actively "see the winter off" - in the social aspect. The advent of spring in the UAE is marked by a huge number of events, exhibitions, shows, festivals and holidays, including our Slavic Pancake Week (which once again proves that the cultural traditions and rituals that we perceive in our families are much stronger than the geography of our residence). But Maslenitsa is nothing more than the revival of nature after winter and the beginning of a new cycle of fertility. And it is customary to celebrate this rebirth, return to life and rebirth with magnificent festivities.

This is where the fun lies. After all, it means joy from the beginning of a new stage, which is always associated with the hope for the best. It is not for nothing that in the spring designers release new collections of clothes, accessories, jewelry and watches. The society, as it were, proposes to be renewed, to discard everything old and unnecessary, to open the door to the new, beautiful and fresh.

All these rituals, even if they are veiled today under something different than they were in ancient times, are designed to break the usual way of life, to invigorate and wake us up.

It seems to me that such an update is very important for any person, and all such holidays have deep implications - for good reason they are celebrated almost all over the world. In Europe, for example, the famous Venice Carnival is held every year, lush carnivals are held in Nice, Cologne, Budapest, Madeira, Binshe (Belgium), Spanish Andalusia and other regions.

The annual two-week “riot of fantasy” is accompanied by theatrical performances during the day and nightly costumed balls. But, despite the fact that everything that happens has an emphasized game character, the carnival is not just a fun holiday, but also a tribute to traditions.

Carnivals seem to be designed to motivate people to change. After all, the most important thing is to always move forward, develop, not stand still, expand your horizons and social circle, visit places you have never been to before, be more flexible, bold and not afraid to head for new horizons. After all, if you want to change something in your life, for a start you need to have the courage to leave behind what you no longer need.

Make madness. Write poetry. Make surprises. Believe in miracles. Let your life begin to pulsate with renewed vigor with the advent of spring.
