THIS YEAR, THE FAMOUS FAMILY OF REPRESENTATIVES OF ANIMAL WORLD FROM CHOPARD EXTENDED THE BOUNDARIES OF THEIR “RESIDENCE AREA”: NOW THE UNIVERSAL JEWELERY HAVE BEEN ADDED TWO CHANGE.

Earthly creatures

The wildlife world has long been a source of inspiration for many jewelry houses. In almost every Haute Joaillerie brand, you can find watches and jewelery that meticulously reproduce figures of various animals in precious metals and stones. Against this background, the Animal World collection has a special place - the fact is that its creator, vice president and chief designer of Chopard Carolina Scheufele sincerely admires the unique variety of terrestrial fauna and makes every effort to preserve it. Her project Animal World is not just jewelry variations on the theme of the animal world, but a living reminder of what a truly beautiful world surrounds us anywhere in the world.

For several years in a row, the brand has been an official partner of WWF, and today it supports environmentally friendly mining of natural resources. In jubilee 2010, Carolina was visited by a bold idea - to create a collection representing 150 animals that live on Earth. However, as you know, about 1.5 million animal species live on our planet, so the anniversary issue of Chopard amounted to 0.0001 from the "real" Animal World. The success of the first collection prompted Carolina and all the artists of the House to continue to explore the world, turning it into objects of art.

Moment of happiness

Each new series of Animal World jewelry that Chopard traditionally presents in the spring at an exhibition in Basel becomes a sensation. Be it a bird necklace that is ready to flap its wings at any moment, shrimp earrings (shown by actress Cate Blanchett) or a grasshopper ring. Each item contains a soul - not a frozen jewelry craft, but a genuine art that managed to capture a piece of real life.

Back in the year of launch, in 2010, within the framework of Animal World, three models appeared in the recognizable Happy Diamond case with the same three “floating” diamonds, the dials of which were decorated with touching scenes, as if transferred from the Animal Planet channel: a monkey trying to grab ripe mangoes , a flock of penguins, a polar bear swimming on an ice floe ... These models were so popular that the creators decided to "revive" the collection even more by placing a dynamic clockwork directly in precious animal figures. Two years ago presented the first version of the clock in the form of an owl, and this year the collection has replenished with two more representatives of the fauna: the chimpanzee and the snail.

Looking at these premieres, you feel as if the artist caught each of the characters at the time of the most interesting and favorite pastime. The little golden monkey seemed to have just jumped onto a twisted bracelet and now plays with watches, inlaid with emeralds, tsavorites and red-orange sapphires. With one hand she grabbed the sapphire crown and was about to begin to mischievously rotate the hands. In fact, this watch has its own secret. The monkey’s hand is a latch that protects the crown from accidental damage. To translate the time, you need to take the "arm" to the side and then freely slide the head out of the case.

The second original jewelry watch model has the same original secret. At first glance, it seems that a bracelet made of diamonds and tsavorites, gently wrapping around your wrist, is a leaf with dew drops, on which a real snail slowly encrusted with cognac and brown diamonds crawls. But it is necessary to squeeze the latch hidden in the "horns" of white gold and push the upper part of the "sink" - and the jewelry immediately turns into an elegant and practical watch with blued hands.

It seems that the best of the collection of Animal World was described almost a hundred years before its appearance by the English poet Robert Browning in the famous poem "Pippa Passes By" (1841, translation by Nikolai Gumilyov): "Year is in spring; Morning is in the afternoon; Morning is in fact seven; And a hill in dew; A bird flies; A snail creeps; God in his heavens - And peace is in order!
