The world of watches: from simple to complex

Miniature women watch Ma Jolie by Boucheron

Women love mini. And it's not just about the length of the skirts. Miniature works of watchmaking and jewelry are also in favor with the fair sex. Paying tribute to the radiant and timeless beauty of femininity, Boucheron jewelry house has created a miniature jewelry watch Ma Jolie, striking in its elegance.

The model has a very small, from 19 to 28 mm, round case. The new "miniature" trend of the Boucheron house is another version of the "classic" and the overall vintage fashion. A return to such small forms is logical, given that in past centuries, decisively all watches, both female and male, were an order of magnitude smaller than modern ones. So that the watch does not look too formal, the watchmakers decorated them with white diamonds.

Ma Jolie’s small round watch features a quartz movement, mother-of-pearl dial, 18-carat pink gold case, diamonds and a gold or steel bracelet. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters.

Swiss watch Breguet Tradition Fusee Tourbillon

The first Swiss Breguet watches were created in 1775, and their fans were always famous and significant persons, down to kings and emperors.

The Tradition line is not only the history of the watch house, but also a courageous desire to develop new technological resources.

A distinctive feature of all models of this family is the protective system, called the "parachute". It was developed by Breguet and put into production in 1790. It is based on an elastic suspension bracket that protects its axis from wear. In fact, the parachute device is the ancestor of all modern shockproof devices.

The Breguet Fusee Tourbillon 7047 is equipped with a Breguet 569 caliber manual winding with an integrated fusee mechanism to ensure a constant and uniform tension of the winding spring. Another innovative feature of this mechanism was the power reserve indicator, located at the 10 o'clock position. The power reserve of the mechanism is 50 hours. The watch case is made of platinum of the 950th test, its diameter is 41 mm, and its thickness is 16.2 mm. Water resistance is 300 m. The watch is equipped with an alligator leather strap and a yellow gold clasp.

Harry Winston Time Rhythm

Harry Winston has released a unique series of watches dedicated to the evolution of watchmaking. Each model is an expression of the essence of watchmaking craftsmanship and the desire for innovation, combines the best features of Swiss watchmaking and the highest level of jewelry work.

The women's watch “Avenue Squared A2 New York” embodies the frantic pace of New York life and is an abstract iconic watch design by Harry Winston. On the dial with time display in two time zones, placed on a powerful and at the same time feminine case, lines and forms are wonderfully intertwined.

The abstract design and severity of the matte and blackened silver finishes are emphasized by the brilliance of diamonds, visually giving the watch more volume and purity. Exceptionally luxurious and feminine version, fully decorated with diamonds, released in a limited edition of 20 pieces. Decorated with round and baguette-cut diamonds weighing more than 7 carats, this watch expresses the essence of luxury.

Zenith: Caliber 135

Among the many technical inventions in watchmaking, which appeared thanks to Zenith experts, the mechanism, called the “Caliber 35”, stands out. This "caliber", created back in 1948, for five years was awarded the Prize of the Neuchatel Observatory for outstanding accuracy and was recognized as the best manual winding movement in the history of watchmaking.

In November 2009, the watch world celebrated the centenary of Efrem Jobin, creator of caliber 135, which was installed only in exclusive watches and in very limited quantities. Efrem Jobin is without a doubt the oldest living watchmaker alive today.

For all the years after the invention, only 11 thousand calibers of 135 were produced. Zenith decided to mark the centenary of the master with the release of a special series of watches in the amount of 100 copies, and the number 100 was presented to the hero of the day. This watch is equipped with an automatic winding with Elite 689. The watch case is made of 18 ct pink gold with sapphire crystal on both sides; the hands and hourly clock numbers are made of gold. The model is complemented by a handmade alligator leather strap with a gold clasp.

Tamed Whirlwind: Lange 1 Tourbillion Watch

The trilogy watches - Tourbograph “Pour le Merite”, Lange 1 Tourbillon and 1815 Moonphase, made of a new gold alloy, which has previously unattainable hardness, are proof that Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s heritage in watchmaking is enriched by the ingenuity and virtuoso skills of modern craftsmen.

The new 18-carat alloy - honey-colored gold - is about twice harder than other gold alloys: its hardness on the Vickers scale is more than 300. The balance bridge of the watch is made of the same material, and under it there is a spiral designed and manufactured in Lange workshops.

LANGE 1 TOURBILLON incorporates a design that provides instant balance stop in a rotating tourbillon carriage. It became the patented mechanism for stopping the second hand. This device is now used in the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON watch from the anniversary collection. The main distinguishing feature of the new masterpiece is the tourbillon holding rotor with a mirror-polished honey-colored gold bridge, which is ideally integrated into the dial.

The tourbillon rotor is held between two diamond patch stones. It was in this way that Ferdinand Adolf Lange once decided to celebrate a pocket watch of “1A” quality category.

Piaget Introduces New Piaget Polo Sport Watch

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of one of its most famous models, Piaget has unveiled the new exquisite Piaget Polo FortyFive. Their sporty style is emphasized by the actual diameter of 45 mm, associated with 45 minutes of polo match, and the use of materials unusual for Piaget: titanium, rubber and steel. Despite such an unusual design, the craftsmen did not change the tradition of a high level of decoration, and the technical characteristics of the watches are not inferior to their aesthetic qualities. The model is equipped with a Piaget 800P automatic movement, a chronograph with a flyback function and a second time zone indicator.

During the creation of the Piaget Polo FortyFive model, the Polo design was completely rethought: new proportions, a new silhouette, a screw crown decorated with convex elements, buttons and a rubber-coated crown, a black PVD-coated rotor and a triple folding clasp with a lock .
