Announced fuel price increase in the UAE in October

Fuel prices in the United Arab Emirates will rise in October, the Department of Energy said.

On Thursday, September 28, the UAE Department of Energy announced that fuel prices would rise in October 2017. The cost of a liter of Super 98 will reach 2.12 dirhams ($ 0.57) (an increase of 4.95%); Special 95 - AED 2.01 ($ 0.547) (5.79% increase); E Plus-91 - 1.94 dirhams ($ 0.53) (an increase of 6.01%).

The price of diesel was fixed at 2.10 dirhams ($ 0.57) per liter.

Fuel prices are linked to international oil prices. Brent is trading at $ 57.54 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate is priced at $ 51.92 on Thursday morning.

The United Arab Emirates has reduced up to 10 percent of its oil exports in the past two months in accordance with the OPEC agreement, said Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrui.
