Dubai's Rashid Port turns into a luxury entertainment center

A new entertainment area will be built at Rashid Dubai Port.

A new marina will be opened at the Mina Rashid port in Dubai, which will accommodate 20 thousand yachts, announced on Monday by Sheikh Mansour bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launching the Marinas project.

The new area is expected to become a tourist attraction with many facilities, including an entertainment city called Marina Cube.

The project is owned by P&O, which is now part of DP World, the port operator, said Mohammed Al Mannai, CEO of P&O Marinas.

"All kinds of entertainment will be available, all the requirements of ship users will be met at the marina," Al Mannay said.

The company claims that the construction of cafes, restaurants, shops and pedestrian paths is planned under the Marina Cubes project. The project will also include residential units and a landing area for small seaplanes.

According to Al Mannay, the crew crew living area will also be located in the harbor.

Sheikh Mansur visited the new project, accompanied by Sultan bin Suleiem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, as well as Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC).

P&O is processing the port of Rashid in an attempt to attract tourists. The port is divided into three parts: cruise terminal, ferry terminal and marina. The company hopes to place a significant part of Dubai superyachts in berths. The first stage will allow yachts up to 10 meters long to enter the port, and the second stage is aimed at placing yachts up to 160 meters long.

"I believe that there is a shortage of boat marinas in Dubai. This is the information we received from the facilities and ship owners," Al Mannai said, adding that the demand in Dubai is too high.

In a separate statement, bin Sulayem said that tourists arriving in Dubai would expect "the best entertainment facilities."

During the last cruise season, Dubai met more than 625 thousand tourists, which is 15 percent more than in the previous season.

The government claims that by 2020 more than a million cruise tourists are expected. Cruise tourism continues to grow in the UAE as the government develops the necessary infrastructure and promotes the country as a cruise center. The main factor in the growth of the industry in the UAE is the desire of the government to develop this profitable segment, especially in terms of infrastructure and continuous promotion at the international level.
