1.5 million medical records in Dubai become digital

Heads of the Dubai Health Department announce the launch of the third and final phase of the initiative to digitalize medical records.

More than 1.4 million patient records in Dubai have been transferred to the new unified electronic system.

The Health Authority (DHA) announced the launch of the third and final phase of the Salama system in the following facilities: Latifa Hospital, Hatta Hospital, Thalassemia Center, Dubai Gynecology and Fertility Center and all DHA Medical Fitness Centers.

Salama was launched in February 2016. It is a DHA project that aims to provide patients and doctors with access to medical records through a single portal and to ensure the availability of medical records in DHA facilities.

The first phase of the program began in April at the Rashid Hospital, Barsha Health Center, Airport Medical Center, Dermatology Center and Dubai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center, and the second phase touched upon Dubai Hospital, Dubai Diabetes Center, the Family Gathering Center and all Primary Health Care Center.

Humeid Al Kutami, Chairman and CEO of DHA, said the Salama project was completed in record time.

Salama allows you to access important patient information by DHA doctors at all DHA facilities, resulting in reduced patient waiting times and lower costs.

More than 11,000 DHA employees have been trained to use the system.
