Drones will track traffic in Dubai

UAVs will use 4G technology to monitor the situation on the roads of Dubai.

Dubai police use unmanned aerial vehicles to broadcast traffic congestion during peak hours in real time, said Khalid Al-Merri, deputy director of operations communications for the Dubai police, on Tuesday. Using this information, the department sends patrols to congestion sites.

Traffic monitoring drones will be connected to the police operating room through 4G technology.

"The new technology will help record incidents, emergencies, disasters and accidents in Dubai and broadcast them live in the command room so that employees can make quick decisions. It will also archive records for use in training purposes," the general said Major Al Merry.

Drones are equipped with long-lasting batteries.
