The French Cultural Center in Dubai has acquired a new gallery and library

An updated theater has opened in the French center of Dubai, a library and a new art gallery have appeared.

As part of the development of friendly relations between France and the UAE, an expanded French cultural center has opened in Dubai.

Alliance Francaise opened up new spaces for visitors on Thursday at its Oud Metha branch in Dubai. As part of the renovation, a renovated theater, a library in French, as well as a new art gallery and a restaurant serving authentic French cuisine were opened.

Cultural spaces were launched by the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Maurice Gourdo Montagnier, as part of his visit to the country for the 10th session of the strategic dialogue between France and the UAE, and Zaki Nussaib, Minister of State.

For 35 years, the Alliance Francaise in Dubai has remained the center where students, teachers and important cultural, educational and economic figures in the UAE meet to study French and deepen their knowledge of French and French-speaking cultures.

"The expansion of the Alliance Francaise is an opportunity for thousands of UAE students to learn French," said Gourdo Montagnier, "French is an international language, such as English and Arabic, and spreads across all continents and regions of the world."

He added that Alliance Francaise has been instrumental in promoting French with 834 centers worldwide in 132 countries and 550,000 students, including 3,500 in Dubai.

The opening of the center follows a series of warm gestures from France. Last November, French President Emmanuel Macron paid a visit to Abu Dhabi, during which he attended the grand opening of the Louvre Museum of Abu Dhabi, the first branch of the Louvre Museum outside of Paris.
