Dubai, UAE. The Department of Urban Planning and the Municipality of the UAE (DPM) announced the opening of a new beach area on the island of Hudairyat in Abu Dhabi.

On an area of ​​thirty square kilometers there are four football fields, four volleyball and four basketball courts, four tennis courts, two beach soccer fields, cross-country and bicycle paths of 5 and 10 km, as well as an open-air garden.

In the near future there will be a walking area, numerous cafes and restaurants, playgrounds, water sports centers and much more, which will create comfortable conditions for a long stay on the island.

Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of DPM, said: “The opening of sports and entertainment facilities on the Khudayrat Island is part of the creative plan of the first UAE President Sheikh Zayed, who dreamed of creating a modern metropolis with developed infrastructure. Hudayryat Island can be reached via a suspension bridge near Al Bateen Beach. The bridge has long been closed for travel, and now it is a direct road to the world of sports and outdoor activities. Guests can use the sports fields absolutely free. The exception is bike rental.

It is reported that the island’s infrastructure will be developed over the course of twenty years, offering new ambitious projects from year to year to local residents and guests of the capital.
