In the UAE, expatriates will be given out free electric cars

Expatriates who have lived in the United Arab Emirates for more than 20 years will receive the right to preferential purchase of an electric vehicle of Chinese assembly.

As reported today, April 1, 2019, at the Federal Ministry of Happiness of the United Arab Emirates, expatriates who have lived in the country legally for at least 20 years will receive the right to apply for shareware receiving the latest electric car of the Chinese brand Si Yue Yi Ri.

The official announcement was commented by Ahmed Al-Eva Yumin Abril, head of a specially created commission under the UAE Ministry of Happiness. In an interview with leading emirate news agencies, he clarified that in addition to the period of residence in the UAE, a number of other conditions must be met explicitly indicated in the Special Agreement signed on the eve by the general director of the representative office of the Chinese company Si Yue Yi Ri in Abu Dhabi.

Among the conditions that must be met, the official named four main ones:

  1. The total uninterrupted period of stay of the applicant in the UAE legally must exceed 252 lunar months (240 months according to the solar calendar).
  2. The amount of travel fines for any 12 months of expatriate stay in the UAE should not exceed 24 thousand UAE dirhams.
  3. The applicant should not have a criminal record in the UAE and unpaid water and electricity bills in the amount of more than 5 thousand UAE dirhams.

In addition, according to the official, there are other related conditions that will be communicated to the applicant during a personal interview at special dealerships of the Chinese automaker, which will be opened in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. Most likely, the fulfillment of additional conditions will not interfere with the receipt of the car, but will affect the model and equipment provided.

“The day of April 1, 2019 will forever remain in the memory of the inhabitants of the UAE as another milestone in the history of building a happy society with equal opportunities,” Ahmed Al Eva Yumin Abril summed up his speech.

As the journalists of the Russian Emirates Publishing House said, having carefully read the text of the agreement, those whose application will be approved will still have to pay. We are talking about a one-time fee of 3,000 UAE dirhams for the issuance of special plastic cards, which give the right to charge the car for free at all electric gas stations in the country.
