A new water taxi route will facilitate traffic between Dubai and Sharjah.

Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Roads and Transport Committee has launched a new water taxi route that connects two neighboring emirates for the first time - Dubai and Sharjah. A taxi will run between Al Ghubaiba and Aquarium stations and will carry up to 1.3 million passengers a year.

Travel time is 35 minutes. Taxis will run during peak hours on city highways every half hour - from 05.00 to 09.00 and from 16.00 to 20.30 - from Saturday to Sunday to unload them from congestion.

The rest of the day, a taxi will leave every 90 minutes. The total number of flights will be 42 per day. The cost of the trip will be 15 dirhams in the “silver” class and 25 in the “gold” class.
