The world's fastest open car named after Rembrandt. But not the best painter in the world, whose self-portrait with Saskia on her lap is remembered by many since her childhood, but in honor of one of the Bugatti brothers, an animal sculptor of the early twentieth century. The most famous work of Rembrandt Bugatti - an elephant cast in bronze, standing on its hind legs with a trunk extended into the sky - is reproduced in miniature and in the interior of the new roadster. The limited edition is based on the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, which two years ago set a world speed record for open-top cars - 407 km / h, still not beaten by anyone. The car, assembled in France according to German drawings and made in cognac and coffee colors, is estimated at 2 million 180 thousand euros. It is said that its robotic 7-speed DSG gearbox alone costs the same as a Porsche 911.

Range Rover Convertible
Who, if not the Land Rover, set the tone in the production of open SUVs? Aluminum defenders with a tarpaulin top removed and a windshield frame folded onto the hood flickered on the movie screen for the entire second half of the 20th century, and older than them are only willets of war time. But the Range Rover Evoque Convertible project announced earlier for production seems to have been canceled, and fans of the brand have only hoped for tuners. Newport Convertible Engineering (NCE), a California-based company, has skillfully “blown away” production cars since 1983, and SUVs are not particularly difficult for its specialists. So, on the basis of the "adult" Range Rover Vogue with a turbocharged V8 engine, a convertible with an automatic awning was created last summer. I had to sacrifice the rear window, and the door frames cause some claustrophobia, but in general the NCE product serves as a worthy offer in the niche of open all-terrain vehicles, whose scope is much more extensive than just a beach.

Lamborghini aventador roadster
The largest "beast" in the Lamborghini lineup - the 12-cylinder all-wheel drive Aventador - began to produce in the topless version. Two halves of the composite roof are removed manually and retracted into the front trunk. They weigh only 3 kg each, and this has its advantages: the lifting mechanism does not weigh down the carbon body (which is already “fattening” in comparison with the closed version of 50 kg), and instead, noise reduction systems are installed here. The owner of a roadster with a 7-speed automatic transmission can choose one of three modes of behavior on the road: Strada, Corsa, Sport. The chief designer of the brand, Filippo Perini, believes that when creating the open version, it was possible to maintain and even improve the successfully found proportions of the Aventador model.
