A crisis? What a crisis!

CRISIS, SPEAK? WHERE PLEASANT, BUT NOT IN DUBAI! THE CITY MAGICALLY RECOVERED FROM THE IMPACT RECEIVED IN 2008, AND TODAY SHINES AGAIN IN ALL ITS GREATNESS.

Watching the news on TV, I increasingly find myself thinking that the picture does not add up. With vigorous voices, but with sad faces, the announcers talk about the fact that the positive expectations that the crisis would soon be overcome, alas, did not materialize. Everywhere stagnation and stagnation, everywhere a drop in the pace of industrial production and lower forecasts for GDP. Discrepancies in the American budget (and this is the largest global economy) and the need to re-increase the border of public debt only add pessimism to this common tar. But if you tear yourself away from the TV screen or turn your head away from the monitor, looking down at Sheikh Zayed’s main Dubai highway, your gaze rests ... in traffic jam.

Yes, I know that traffic jams are commonplace in Sharjah. But in Dubai? They left with the crisis in 2008, and it seemed they would never return. But the number of cars on the roads of Dubai is growing rapidly, and the annoying barkers of local banks are increasingly terrorizing the population with calls, offering all kinds of car loans on the most favorable terms.

Have you seen the "frozen" construction sites in Dubai? Builders appeared around, tower cranes started working, cars with fresh concrete scurried in front of them. Rumor has it that the ruler of Dubai gave developers only two years to complete projects announced before the crisis. Not a day goes by for any developer to announce the commissioning of another facility. Or - about the beginning of the construction of a new one.

Realtors raised their heads again: investors are buying everything, without regret investing honestly earned millions in square meters of Dubai real estate. Prices rushed up - and in some projects they have already reached the pre-crisis level, and in some they have exceeded it. Mountain investors who bought apartments in 2008 (at the maximum!), And a year ago were ready to get rid of them at half price, have already changed their minds. And now they are waiting for the moment when they can sell everything with a profit!

It seems impossible, but again there was a demand for yachts! Old friends call, scolding Capri, Sardinia, Monaco and Ibiza, as well as the Italian and French Riviera combined. In a hurry to book places in luxury hotels in March 2014, when the next yacht salon will be held in Dubai. They ask for professional contacts - to ask the price, to find out the details, to look for places for future parking in the few bays in Dubai so far.

Have you seen crowds of visitors in Dubai shopping centers? A year ago, this could be observed on days of major holidays. On a weekday, during the week, he drove friends to the Dubai Outlet Mall and did not find a parking! On the far approaches to the shopping center, all the curbs are clogged with cars. Who are these people?! Look at the tired sellers in expensive boutiques and at the happy faces of managers - watches and jewelry are once again bought in Dubai, diamonds are again in price here.

When you read these lines, most likely a decision will be made on the venue of EXPO-2020. It may not be patriotic, but for some reason, it seems to me that Dubai will win. And we will definitely meet here again.
