Emirates Airline abolishes fuel tax on its air travel

The largest airline in the region, Emirates Airline, canceled the fuel surcharge introduced in April this year for its air transportation due to lower fuel prices. At the same time, Etihad Airways introduced a 40% discount on air fares for UAE and GCC citizens traveling in economy class during May.

These measures are in line with competition with low-cost carriers, which have recently become increasingly popular in the region.

In general, however, the fuel crisis, according to tour operators in the Middle East, is able to increase the cost of flights this season by 15-20%, amid growing demand for air travel by passengers. The fact that passengers want to book flights in advance allows airlines to calculate in advance and plan the next stage of their pricing policy in the most favorable way.

In particular, according to experts, the price of flights to Malaysia and Turkey, the two most preferred summer vacation destinations by UAE citizens, this summer could grow by 10%.
